Dear Gary, Finally back in S.D. ready to get back to school. Wanted to thank you for accommodating us. Every once in a while one has to check in with one's sources and this vacation was good for that. I hope both Bonnie [Lambert] & I can see you again before you go to N.Y. Until then, Marshall

Dear Paul, Have eaten our way through Manhattan and will leave for Long Island today. We've walked a lot and seen a lot and loved it, but remain confirmed Westerners. Hicks to the bone! See you in a few days. Love Paula & Ted

3/21/80 Thought you might find the process extremely engaging... NYC is quite a disorienting concept. Aggression & rain. S.P.E. [Society for Photographic Education] at a kosher country club. Very strange. xoxo Andrea

1.4.79 Dear Paul, Nice postcard, huh? The big events of our trip home were Wolf Creek Pass (so much snow!) & a terrible wind storm just 50 miles east of S. D. They closed the interstate abt. an hour after we went through. It was real fun to see you again. 1.10.79 Just found this—Sue R. [Robinson] & Rex [Westen] have been here—had a real nice time. Write soon. xo Bonnie

December 1978 Dear Paul, I wish you could come to Billings! We might swing by Breckenridge—can you go there? Will write or call you from Billings if rendezvous looks possible. xo Bonnie This photo is one of the first out of our newly formed collaboration—hope to get lots done on the road. It's in stereo too! If you have the glasses it works. Hope to see you soon. Marsh

Dear Paul & Joe—We are in Cooke City, Mont. in a very primitive, but beautiful cabin—there is a linoleum braided rug on the floor. Rain all day today in Yellowstone, but we walked to Morning Glory Pool, nonetheless. Having a WONDERFUL time. xoxo Bonnie

9.9.82 Dear Paul, We're having grey, muggy weather—rain all day yesterday & even some thunder! Very strange for September. But, a welcome relief from the preceding HOTNESS. I'm trying to get lots of things done while Marshall [Mayer] is away, but keep getting sidetracked by all the good books I want to read. Have you found a job? This is a bad time to be job hunting. We went camping in North Cascades near Canadian border during Seattle trip. It was beautiful‚ snow covered Mt. Baker & another big one. Took a good, hot hike. Also, took a walk with my sister in a beautiful park along Puget Sound—lots of outdoorsy things right in the heart of Seattle. Seems much healthier than LA DEE DAH xo BGL

Dear Paul, We've moved our darkroom & studio to a space under the house here where we live. It's small, but comfortable & CONVENIENT. How's your remodeling going? Any traveling plans this summer? We will probably not go too far away until October. I hope to get a week off then for a trip up to Oregon. In the meantime, we're BUSY! How about you? xo Bonnie

11.8.83 Dear Paul—Sorry for the delay in communications—lots of changes here. As you can see, we've moved: a bigger place, but in our comfortable (most of the time) neighborhood. We need more room because we're going to have a baby boy! We're very excited, but not quite ready yet (I'll be having it at Hollywood Presbyterian. Isn't that where you were born?) He's supposed to appear on Jan. 30th, but we're hoping for February 2nd—Ground Hog's Day. xo Bonnie The months are passing quickly in preparation. I'm supposed to be in CO for the month of Jan to teach at CC [Colorado College].—We'll see how things go here. Hope all is well with you. Marshall

Mark, This is an example of my work for the book—I hope its' [sic] in one piece. Sorry we didn't get to look at you're book stuff—we actually came looking for you after the printer but nowhere to be located. I'll most likely be down for the 4th with some work—I'll probably call to verify anything. I moved—[address redacted and phone]. Just finished applying to Ferguson Grant to pay for this book—I sure home Scott [McLeod] can do a better job—200 line screen AT LEAST. We all want it nice. Molly's getting excited to come. Marshall
