Hi Bub—Sorry you are feeling poorly. We will talk soon about the state of our art, the art, if art and why art. Ferdy and Imelda are my favorite exiled couple, how about you? Miss you. JB

Oct. 18 Hello—I am in London for the week seeing plays looking for something to produce. It looks as if the movie theater is going to go through. I expect a treatise from you on: "Russ Meyer and Vietnam: Dual Icons in the Tunnel of the Sixties" which can be distributed to unsuspecting patrons when they attend my first double feature: "Winning Hearts and Minds" and "Cherry, Harry and Raquel." More later.

Dear Hedda-I KNOW you are still waiting for your slides—what can I say—I'm the Christmas slime. What's happening?—thanks for all the correspondence—I am about 10 behind. I just got a card from a friend in London which began "Silence doesn't become you..." I guess I'm getting lazy. Good books and thoughts running in my brain. I am beginning to get out of low gear. Sure do miss you—even your ugly face. Come east and visit. Check out the [John] Berger piece in January Harper's. Love that guy. Love to you and Robbi too.

Lincoln's B-day Hey bud. Japan, eh? I don't think I can make it. Sounds great. Cold here. Cold. Cold. Good season for Bears. Chicago went wild—lots of disappointment to overcome. I am getting excited about going there. haven't yet figured out much about the movie theatre. It is loosing money—the winter kills us. Seen some good films lately—my head is full of thoughts—may write a script. What's happing with the [Larry] Burroughs project?
