[address redacted] 1/22/76 Dear David, Am enjoying nice slow pace of being a visiting prof. in Southern Cal. My colleagues spend as much if not more time in meetings than we do a Ramapo, but NOT ME! Am meeting & really liking the photographers here. Alan Sekula is good & so is Fred Lonidier, who is doing really interesting things. They are both VERY radical and smart. (No, I'm not going to stay here to live, but I'd like to retire & die here). Love, Carol

Dave—What're you up to? On the road at all? I've gotten to Israel, Egypt, Sri Lanka & Pakistan since last we were in touch. In Jan. I sail to Antarctica. So I'm very busy here but shoot of [sic] to L.A. & next D.C. Have you watched [John] Schott's T.V. program? Linda [Connor?] was out in Ireland. Take care, Stuart Klipper [address redacted]

It is exciting and never looks the same, THIS AWESOME BEAUTY, (this is how it looks as it BOILS) just moments away from the glamour and the glitter, the entertainment and excitement, the fun and gaiety. (IT RUNS around the clock.) GM [address redacted]

12/22/81 Dear Dave—This trip did not turn out as planned--lousy weather in Cozumel made me head inland for more perusal of ruins. This view, while maybe bettering anything Robert Adams can do, is most amazing for what it hides. Coba is largely unexcavated, but full of intriguing foot paths which lead to countless overgrown monuments of every size from tiny to towering. The biggest is 142 meters high. Wish you were here. Love, Ellen
