Paula & Ted—Couldn't find you before I left for B'Ridge. God talk about a busy crazy week. Had too much to pull together & too many people to deal w/. The one I wanted to deal w/ left early too. Mary's up here w/me and so far she's no trouble & will earn her keep typing for Andrea [Jennison] and Kenda [North] tomorrow. I'm running some film now. My class starts in a 1/2 hour. Horrors. They develop color film today—and hopefully make contact prints & learn how to make a print. I'm in class now & it's under control. Leaving for Chicago Tues—home Monday noon. Love B.

Jan 25 Andrea—Linda Simpson (at Keystone) felt sorry that you & Tom [Breeden] never arranged a "trade" for the lecture—dinner, lift ticket, etc. Why don't you take her up on it when you come for the workshop?? Let her know (or me) so she can arrange something. She enjoyed the presentation... Thanks, Kenda

12/15 The little people with their little feet in white socks with toes shuffle/clomp around and make no giggle. i'm stuffed on raw fish, rice and sake and wish i could stay here a month. travelling [sic] with the family is cramped but i'm slowly relaxing and letting my eyes get big. Love, K.

Mark & Ellen—I'm at the Western Art Assoc. Museum conference, staying at La Fonda, with Kirk (my new bay associate). It's great, we both hustle the men and see who wins! It's good to breath [sic] clean air here. Lots of good people—I'm learning a lot. Will move into my apartment next week—yeah! Love Kenda

18 March 77 Bonita—I've been meaning to send you this card for months, and to promise that if you and Marshall ever make it to NYC, I'll take you here for dinner. (It's open 24 hrs.) Rudi Kicken is here now on a business trip, and will be out in your neck of the woods in a few weeks. [He intends to look you up.] We will miss you at SPE next week = Ellen [Manchester], Deborah, Helen, Chuck, Alex, Kenda [North] will all be here. Can you believe it? I also have an old-fashioned date next week, which is making me nervous as hell. Cross your fingers. P

October 8 Well ladies, Rochester hasn't felt to bad, back home with my plants, books and darkroom—the place seems so huge and comfy. Trees playing rainbow exercises—raining even more than usual so I'm content to stay inside and print. If I didn't get restless I might get somewhere! Living with Helena Brunner (wonderful), Jim Hunter has found temporary residence in the living room (no comment at this point) Alex [Sweetman] is happy in Chicago, really seems to love the job & the people—will you come see us?? I really miss you here, haven't many people around to feel good with (I divorced the [Visual Studies] Workshop—our relationship was never too hot). love & a hug Kenda

Well, so far it's been insane. The tour group is mainly over 65, all retired, VERY chatty, and barely tolerant of us. it's been raining most of the time, and my ass is nearly paralyzed from sitting in trains and busses. it IS a frontier, the landscape is incredible and some of the towns haven't changed since the gold rush! but we hardly stop to see anything—only for 'picture stops'—and how can i compete with 20 instamatics and 6 dedicated amateurs? I wanna come home... kenda
