October 8 Well ladies, Rochester hasn't felt to bad, back home with my plants, books and darkroom—the place seems so huge and comfy. Trees playing rainbow exercises—raining even more than usual so I'm content to stay inside and print. If I didn't get restless I might get somewhere! Living with Helena Brunner (wonderful), Jim Hunter has found temporary residence in the living room (no comment at this point) Alex [Sweetman] is happy in Chicago, really seems to love the job & the people—will you come see us?? I really miss you here, haven't many people around to feel good with (I divorced the [Visual Studies] Workshop—our relationship was never too hot). love & a hug Kenda |

Dear Bonnie—Mmm, well, here at last—& r u still there? Since yr delicate desert postal I've been to England, redone my apt & car (in 1977 Cadillac green)—but still the same personality-wise—no-no NEA is gonna make ME stuck up. What're you DOIN out there? Ah, them Calif days, blurry all. Sandy Hume's comin out to NYC—staying here a couple of days—will find out all the latest. Spoke to Teaneck High School yesterday. Topic: "Carreers [sic] in Fine Artz". "There aren't any," I said. & further that there couldn't be. The vocational counselor said I was real good—can't think why. Hope yr. happy in the sun & so is Marshall [Mayer]. howdy—& MERRY CHRISTMAS, even Love, Dave |

Dear B&M—Where did you get old of a crinkle-cutter (as seen on last p.c.)? I'd sure like one! Have been up to Wyo & camping with T&A [Tom Breeden and Andrea Jennison] in hot spgs. area. Very nice along Platte [River]—high water, huge cottonwoods, much wildlife. Was good to exit from city for [a] while. Will go hiking above Ward [CO] tomorrow—still much snow. As ever—Paul |

7.2.76 This is the cold eye of disbelief + this is where I am now. I'm at Light Gallery + Victor [Schraeger] is late, + I'm getting depressed 'cause I got your nice card, but it was sooo laconic + far away, + I stayed in bed too long or not long enough, + then when I did go out the wind was blowing real hard. later, having talked with Victor, I feel like I chocked [sic] on the Cracker Jack prize. Oh well, maybe I'll get over it after I eat my swiss cheese sandwich. love, Bonnie |
